Why do Japanese people catch and kill dolphins? They are harmless and cute animals that just want to live in the ocean without being disturbed. Why do Chinese people catch furry animals, skin them alive, just to sell fur? Those people who work in the industry have no feelings. To use a big machete and slit dolphin throats and to hear them scream. Or to knock out animals with clubs so that they become unconscious while the men skin them. But what about when the knock wasn’t hard enough to make them unconscious? Do they go through the skinning enduring the pain?
Japanese people say that they catch dolphins for scientific
research, but that is a lie. At least, the main reason is because they
eat dolphins. Japanese school girls walking by the dolphin
slaughterhouse just laugh at the process. They think it’s funny to see
blood squirt out of their throats and the screeching sounds they make.
Are we running out of food that we have to catch dolphins to eat? And
won’t one dolphin be enough “meat” for a long time? They are just
greedy people.
Dolphins will become extinct. Polar bears will become extinct. I hate
all the animal cruelty in the world. Human beings can be so inhumane it
makes me sick. I wish the world didn’t have to be this way, but it is
reality. It’s survival of the fittest, and we are the it.
It may sound apathetic of me to say that I don’t care as much for the killings of humans around the world as I care for the killings of animals. War is caused by humans. We could stop war. Genocides happen because humans are greedy for power. The way I see it, we have intelligence. In almost any situation, we can find our way out or find help. Animals aren’t smart like humans. They don’t know that people are after them, hunting them for food and then torturing them, like the whales. For all they knew, they were just swimming around and frolicking in the water without a thought that they might be tied to a truck and dragged to the slaughterhouse later.
When I think about these instances I get mad because nothing can ever be done. Why are people giving money (or the government giving money) to support organizations that try to end HIV/AIDS? That disease has been prevalent and will continue to be prevalent in Africa. Nothing can be done about it unless they become educated. Why not put that money into giving animals a better home, spaying/neutering them, instead of euthanizing them? That actually saves lives. I can’t even get started on puppy mills. That topic would be endless. [Oprah recently had an episode on her show about the realities of puppy mills. You can check that out on YouTube also. So please don't get your pets from pet stores at malls, etc.]
I’m sorry, this has been a rant. Not many people think about this on a daily basis, but people should be aware of all kinds of cruelty going on in the world.
P.S. If you would like to watch the reality of dolphin slaughter, just go to YouTube.com and put in those key words. I would put a link here for you to see, but I don’t even want to go and search for it — it’s too depressing for me.
